Keeping the pimples away

Just about everyone wants clear skin. Here are a few tips I have for you to help.

1.) Use a healthy makeup

Using a makeup with skin clearing ingredients such as salicylic acid, are great for preventing     breakouts, and getting rid of existing ones. I use the Neutrogena skin clearing foundation. It works great for clearing breakouts. I had a couple on the side of my head, wore the foundation for a couple days, and they dried up and healed on their own. No popping, no waiting weeks for them to go away. Neutrogena also makes a Healthy skin makeup, that improves your skin.

2.) Washing your face

You should wash your face twice a day. Make it part of your morning and night routine so you don't forget. The sooner your start the better, because if you are young and don't have any breakouts yet, it's better to prevent then cure. When it comes to what to wash your face with, you should pick something for your skin type. For example, if you have acne prone skin, you should pick an acne face wash, or something deep cleansing. Even if you don't have acne prone skin and your pimples keep coming back, I recommend a deep cleanser. I like to use Clean and Clear's Deep action. It penetrates, deep down into your pores, washing away dirt, oil, and any left over makeup. So, if you have dry sensitive skin, Aveeno, and Burt's Bee's are great. I don't have that type of skin, but Aveeno still works great for me. Having oily skin, I use the Clear complextion foaming cleanser. When I feel my skin needs more, I use a deeper cleanser. Another quick, easy, gentle product is toner or cleansing water. I use Boots expert sensitive refreshing toner. It's great and easy to use, and super affordable. You can find everything I mentioned at your local Target, Wal-Mart or drug store.

3.) Hydrate your skin

After cleansing your face, you need to re hydrate it with a moisturizer especially after using a deep cleansing product, because there are chemicals in it that dry out your skin to get rid of the oil. Moisturizing will also make your skin feel and appear more healthy. I use Aveeno clear complextion daily moisturizer, but there are many others such as: Boots, Burt's Bee's, Neutrogena, Olay, and much more. You can find these at your local Target, Wal-Mart, or drugstore.

Ways to heal dry chapped lips

Everybody gets chapped lips now and then. But let's face it, it gets embarrassing when you want to wear your favorite lip gloss, and it comes out all flakey and gross. So here are a few tips to keep your lips healthy.

First, here are some of my personal ways that I keep my lips healthy.

 1.) Stay Hydrated!
I notice when I don't drink a lot of water, my lips start to crack. Water is very important for the body, and you should drink at least 2-3 liters daily.

2.) Have that lip balm ready!

Applying lip balm as needed throughout the day definitely hydrates your lips. I enjoy the Maybelline baby lips, e.l.f. conditioning lip balm, and the eos lip balm in mint, and strawberry. I keep my lip balm in my pocket, and apply it every couple of hours, or when my lips get dry.

3.) Natural ways to heal your lips

Coconut oil is great for your lips. Just applying a small amount several times is great, especially when the weather is cold and dry.

Try rubbing your lips with a slice of cucumber.

And lastly Aloe. Aloe is a great healing therapy for the skin. Rub a bit of Aloe Vera gel on your lips daily.

So what are you waiting for? Give it a try. Let me know how it works out for you! Quick tip: if you don't have time to treat your lips slowly, use a wet toothbrush, to scrub off the dead skin, then using whatever method you choose, keep applying it to your lips daily.

Keep your hair Hydrated and healthy

Let's face it, during the summer we do a lot to dry out our hair. Between the chlorine from the pool, the sun, and the salty ocean. So, I have a few tips to keep your hair shiny, Hydrated, and healthy.

1.) Deep conditioning

Using a deep conditioner once a week or more, adds more moisture to your hair than regular conditioner, repairing any damage, or breakage. You can find a deep conditioner, or hair mask at your local drugstore, Target, or Wal-Mart. Try to find a product that contains olive oil, and other moisturizing and/or natural ingredients.

2.) Using a moisturizing shampoo

Using a regular shampoo can strip your hair and it's natural oils. Finding a shampoo that is specifically for dry hair, or that says "moisturizing" or "replenishing" would be great.

3.) Drop the heat!

Blow drying, flat ironing, and any heat is bad for your hair. To make your hair healthier, don't use heat as much, and let your hair dry naturally. You can still heat style, but everyday is not a good idea. To protect your hair when heat styling, try a heat protectant spray that can be found at your local drugstore, Target, or Wal-Mart

4.) Bushing your hair..

Brush your hair twice a day with a soft bristle brush, to get any damaging dirt, and oils out of your hair. Don't pull or tug, gently get the knots out.

5.) Eat healthy!

Green leafy vegetables, fruits, lean protein, and good fats. Vitamins A,B,C,E and K are especially good for your hair.

So what are you waiting for? Give it a try! I also suggest you try the Aussie Hair insurance slit end protector to prevent split ends. Also, macadamia oil is great for your hair. Good luck, and let me know if this helped!
